pump manufacturers, drive train(transmission) manufacturers,
and special machinery builders for 30 years.
In 1981, Allen Kastl Sr. started General Machine & Boring began machining parts out of his garage with a 2b-36 DeVlieg Jigmil, Bridgeport, Lathe, and surface grinders.
In 1984, Allen moved the company into a 3,000 square foot building in Wixom, MI, and General Machine & Boring was born.
By 1987, General Machine had nearly doubled in size, moving into a 5,800 square foot building in Wixom, MI. Then in 1999, General Machine moved again to Brighton, MI, once more doubling its size to a 12,000 square foot building where we operate presently.

Currently we are comprised of 12 machines with 20 employees operating two shifts, 6 days a week. We are a precision machine shop for a wide range of industries including Energy (nuclear, natural gas, oil, and water), thermal forming, military, automotive, and prototype.
